Job Description

To develop a strong sales relationship with a specific list of key accounts and perform a wide variety of technical assessments of customer and market requirements. Your goal with these accounts is to develop a high understanding of how they make their capital and tooling decisions for each of their locations. You must obtain detailed program information and be able to understand and communicate their desired manufacturing processes to our Applications Engineer so that they can put together strong proposals. It is your responsibility as the champion of these accounts to manage our sales and applications pursuit and drive the sales process to closure. You will need to coordinate sales presentations and follow up on active proposals to close new business. ACRO has a CRM software system that you will learn how to use as a tool to help manage your accounts and it will be your responsibility to continually make updates to customers’ information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Travel to your key accounts to develop relationships to obtain information on future projects. This should be done at a quarterly interval
  • Travel as needed to the customer’s site for specific projects to assist in project or product development, working with specific engineering design specifications, objectives, and standards. Gather all the information to review with ACRO’s engineering team.
  • Responsibility for both a finite list of key and secondary accounts and a geographic territory. Regarding key accounts, there are no geographic boundaries within North America that limit this person. International travel will be analyzed on a project specific basis
  • Give proposal presentations to your customers with the help of the ACRO Technical Sales Team. Ideally this will be in-person at the customer’s location
  • Perform customer follow-up to answer proposal questions and assist in attempts to close the sale.
  • Update all business information in the ACRO CRM system.
  • Gather Marketing information on your key customer products to help drive future planning of company focus

Skills

  • Experience in selling automated manufacturing equipment
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Creative critical thinking skills along with excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and able to work independently
  • Sensitivity to sales strategies and requirements
  • Flexible for an environment of multiple and changing priorities with a strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Project experience in automatic assembly, or related factory automation and mechanical/electrical systems
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing engineering processes
  • Experience in building customer relationships
  • Past involvement in sales
